Now you have found your perfect set of makeup brushes, it’s important to take care of them. Washing your brushes once every two weeks keeps them oil and germ free and ready for contact with your skin.

Here are the step by step instructions for getting your brushes clean.

If you use your makeup brush sets regularly you should be keeping them clean in by washing them every other week with either baby shampoo or a cleansing solution made especially for makeup brushes.

What You Need

• The Brushes
• Shampoo
• Two Clean Towels

Step 1

Wet your brush thoroughly by running cold water over it.

Step 2

Add a drop or two of shampoo to the bristles and gently massage it in for a minute or two.

Step 3

Rinse the brushes completely until all traces of color and soap are gone and the water runs clear.

Step 4

Wrap your brushes in a towel and squeeze the excess water out.

Step 5

Lay the brushes flat on a dry towel to dry for about 12 hours.

Never use a blow dryer to get your brushes dry or use them when they’re wet.
